Price

If the price is too good to be true, it usually is! Do yourself a favour and check the price against the original manufacturer’s recommended retail price (rrp) on their website or that of an authorised dealer. If there’s a big difference in price then you might be about to purchase something fake.

Contact

Are these people for real? Especially if you’re buying online, determine the physical location and contact details of the seller. If you’re worried, try calling them by phone or check out their address on Google – if they don’t have contact details, how are you going to get your money back if something isn’t right?

Detail

Have you seen those people standing around in the supermarket reading the ingredients label on every jar of pasta sauce? Well, they’re not so stupid after all. Become an avid label reader; counterfeiters often make spelling mistakes, get the type font wrong or some other detail. Spot the differences. If something just looks wrong, contact the manufacturer’s customer service centre and ask for some advice!
